Hi guys,
It has been one week after a great trip that i had experience in my life. I really like to thank the teachers for letting me have this opportunity to learn and experience how university life is like. Perhaps, this would be my final trip in Ngee Ann and this trip will mark a great ending to it. I'm still thinking of the summer school friends whenever i'm looking through the photos on facebook. How long can this last? Maybe a life-time!
From this two-weeks trip, i had really grown and learned a lot about how to become a successful leader. I remembered this lecturer said "A Leader is a person who change people's thinking." and i totally agree with this statement. Leadership is hard to describe.... Leadership is like art: hard to describe, but you know it when you see it. Leadership does not exist without Follow ship. To be a successful leader you need to respect, listen and know that each follower is following the right person in leading the way.
Other then the leadership lectures, we have also many fun activities that requires team bonding with one another. Through this, it has build up my self-confidences to step out my first step in speaking to the public. I have also learned that we must always be aware of our surroundings and to look out for the good things around us and learn from it. As we were in the Science World, we were attracted to many fun lectures and hands-on activities like Henri Poincare's Million Dollar Problem by Dr. Marty Ross where he share with us many fun ways of solving mathematical problems. And the NASA Space Suit and Zero Gravity Experiments by Dominic L. Del Rosso, Test Director. He share with us how zero-gravity flying can happen in and airplane with the necessary technology needed. Some hands-on activities are the Genetics Laboratory where we conduct science experiments like observing metaphase chromosomes from chinese hamster cells and isolation of green fluorescent protein from escherichia coli. There are still many other fun activities that i will not mention because its too many already.
Finally, to close up this final post, I would like to say a big thank you to this people. Ms Tan, Ms Low, Yan Yang, Wei Jie, Benedict, Dun Kai, Jing Yi, Victoria, Melissa, Germaine and Jia Hui.. Thank You very much! Knowing all of you for just two-weeks had forge down many great memories and friendship that will last forever and being such awesome friends and great teachers in my life. Hopefully next year 2010, all the 10 of us can study hard & play together and striving good results for 'O' Levels and becoming great future leaders.
Final Quotes:
- A Leader is someone who knows the way, goes the way and shows the way.
- Leadership 2.0: Its not who you know-its who knows you
